Mike has worked with companies in business and talent strategy and employee development solutions across 31 different industries, helping him to refine a proven system that works for any size company or industry.

As Chief Learning Officer at DEFENDERS, Mike fueled rapid expansion for the company by casting a vision of making talent the engine for growth.  Under his leadership, DEFENDERS’ Leadership & Development department was recognized by Training Magazine as the 17th Top Training organization in the world.

Emily is an experienced and self-motivated HR professional with 15 years of experience in diverse environments across multiple industries including medical devices/services, manufacturing, agriculture and retail. She has managed the development and maintenance of Human Resources programs across several countries. Emily is adept in implementing programs and changes in fast paced environments that enhance company positions and lead to success. She brings a proven record of successfully managing HR efforts and serving as a crucial leader for HR teams and employees.

Emily believes that it is important for companies to maintain a focus on the development and success of their people assets as well as external growth. She enjoys helping organizations and leaders develop strategies for strengthening their teams. Her primary focus areas are HR/Business process design, government compliance, employee branding and talent attraction, employee engagement initiatives, new manager training and development, and HR team development.
Emily’s experience working with diverse industries and cultures has honed her ability to communicate with stakeholders in all areas of business operations. She is able to easily build rapport and communication allowing her to create the right solution for her client’s needs.

Emily completed her bachelor’s degree at Indiana University and her master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She lives on the westside of Indianapolis and is an active volunteer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boone County.

After 15 years of corporate law practice, she transitioned to human resource executive roles in healthcare, banking and not-for-profits as VP of HR, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior VP of Administration.

At ML Talent Strategies, helps clients in various areas; including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development & planning, compensation, performance management, benefits administration and HR compliance.

Throughout her career, she has played an integral role in helping companies implement industry-leading HRIS software. Her experience has led her to have extensive experience in systems including ADP, Oracle HCM, and Ultimate Software.
